Park Town Map

Lying just south of Luton town centre, Park Town is one of the oldest suburban districts in the wider Luton conurbation. Centred on Park Street, it sits within the county of Bedfordshire and is broadly enclosed by Park Viaduct and Crawley Green Road to the north, New Airport Way to the south, the Midland Main Line railway to the east, and New Town Street and Seymour Road to the west.

History and Development

Park Town was first built upon during the 19th century, making it among the earliest parts of what has since grown into a sprawling urban area. That early development gives the district a character that predates much of modern Luton’s expansion.

Politics and Representation

Park Town falls within the South ward, which is represented by three Labour councillors: Cllr David Agbley, Cllr Fatima Begum, and Cllr Javeria Hussain. At Westminster, the area is part of the Luton South and South Bedfordshire parliamentary constituency, represented by Labour MP Rachel Hopkins.
